Longer softer bristles excellent for adding a wash of color.  I like to use these brushes to add a shimmer and sparkle of iridescent color.  1/4" brush works well for small openings. 

Short dense bristles and short handle make it much easier to archive complete opaque coverage for images.  1/4" for small stencil openings.
